People are different so you need to try more things.
For me personally,the best way to do advertising is to use both,blog and website.
I use blog where I try to explain about for example SFI in 2 or 3 sentences,and I use
website where I have answers on every question new member can ask,even something
about company and rules.
Some people dont like to read too much,and others dont take it seriously when something
is too simple.
And always make sure through blog or website new members can contact you.
